I was talking to an industry insider in the medical transcription field the other day and she dispelled some common myths. When people today start thinking about doing Medical Transcription at home or in an office or hospital, there are many who tell them… “that field won’t be around long due to technology”.
In fact, the myth that surrounds medical transcribers is in fact a myth too. Doctors and nurses are too busy to transcribe these official recordings from other doctors for records purposes. Since new findings are found everyday by science, I bet this job will be around for quite some time. Technology won’t be a factor too since there is nothing better than having humans transcribe the data. Computers aren’t error free.
