I was talking to an industry insider in the medical transcription field the other day and she dispelled some common myths. When people today start thinking about doing Medical Transcription at home or in an office or hospital, there are many who tell them… “that field won’t be around long due to technology”.
In fact, the myth that surrounds medical transcribers is in fact a myth too. Doctors and nurses are too busy to transcribe these official recordings from other doctors for records purposes. Since new findings are found everyday by science, I bet this job will be around for quite some time. Technology won’t be a factor too since there is nothing better than having humans transcribe the data. Computers aren’t error free.

Whether you are a medical professional or not, you possess a certain communication style that helps you get things done and establish good working relationships with your co-workers.
There are four communication styles identified by career experts: the relater, the socializer, the thinker and the director. Each communication style features different work habits and attitudes. Each also has a different take on things and a different way of expressing herself/himself.
Here is an article from MedHunter.com that gives a more in-depth analysis and descriptions of these four communication styles, plus tips on how to deal with people from the different communication groups.

If you want to make it big in your line of work in the medical industry, you will find them in other countries and not in the local areas where you are residing. It is a common sight that we see and apparently, these jobs are open for people who are open on relocating for employment.
The packages offered will vary. Normally these will include highlights such as including family relocation and vacation time where you will be allowed to go back home at specified periods. It still stands that people want to go back to their native land for short vacations. There is still a thing called being homesick.

Pediatrics, OB Gyne, Dermatologist, are just three in many of the medical specialties in the world. Somebody said to me that the population of medical specialization is more than general medicine.
The proper students who undertake medical specialization are more than the proper students that undertake general medicine. Maybe because have a specific expertise could focus only to one specialization with the intention that an individual could practice well in one particular medical specialty. However, this issue that I got from a medical student looks not confirmed because he did not exactly said that if is a worldwide issue or not.

If we are going to look at the statistics gathered through a collaboration of the four departments and/or government institutions of the United States, about 500 million people worldwide are aged 65 and older last 2006.
And 22 years from now, the predicted count of the aged will reach to 1 billion. That’s about 1 in every 8 people we’re talking about.
But nevertheless, technology is booming in the medical field. A lot of devices are being invented on daily basis that are specifically made for the said aging population. Research groups said that they are trying their best to retain simplicity in their research designs yet, maintain efficiency and effectiveness too.

On the first look, you won’t know which jobs top the list when it comes to job growth as the health care jobs in the table are arranged alphabetically. However by taking a second look, you’ll find out that registered nurses, nursing aides, hospital aides and dental assistants are the ones with the brightest outlook this year.

As mentioned earlier in this post, the rate of the aging population is actually rising every year. It was predicted by authorities that by 2030, the aging population will reach about 1 bllion. So what does this entail the medical industry?
Aside from the fact that medical devices for the old people will continue to be invented, medical professions such as audiology is predicted to boom in the next coming years. Yes, aging actually comes with a lot of complications when it comes to a person’s health. Since there is what we call prebyscusis, the natural phenomenon of losing hearing as age increases, audiologists are said to be an in demand profession in the next years.

With the recession that has been hitting the US these days, one has to wonder if the hot demand for nurses from places like the Philippines will continue. Nursing is a hot job these days but not because many want to professionalize in it but largely because people see profitable opportunities in it. Heck, you can even see doctors taking another course since nursing provides them with better opportunities.
But the real question is up to when this trend will continue. It will all come to a point where recession will creep in and the demand for nurses may decline.

As far as pursuing a medical or nursing career is concerned, you really don’t need a specialized skill to do so. Your willingness and open-mindedness is all you will need since some people may react entirely on how they can be able to cope up with the dirty part of doing medical services.
For one, you need a solid stomach. Some people don’t do well when they see blood. Some may even vomit and that is not a good sign of being in this field. It may be easy for some but there are others who have this thing of not being able to stand the sight of certain things associated with the internal body.
Other than that, you are good to go and take up that career and look towards greener pastures.
